6 Reasons We Don't Have the Hair We Want

Last week I wrote an article about the basics of growing long, healthy hair which was geared towards those ladies who are fairly new to the hair journey world and don't quite have their footing. This article runs in the same vein but is directed at us ladies who have been doing this for a little while, but overlook some of the small things that could really make a difference in our hair lives. I came up with six small things that we may not comply with all the time that could potentially make or break our HHJs. Here we go:

The Basics of Growing your Hair to Great Lengths

I recently started investing some time in the blog's Facebook page (go like if you haven't already ;-)), and I have a few new readers, one of whom asked:

Now, for those who dabble in the hair care realm we know that what she really means is "How do I retain enough growth so as to reach this length?" We know this because hair grows as long as we are alive and healthy (If you want to speed up growth though, here's how). However, retaining length is the real trick. Here is an outline of the basics:

Supplements for Increased Hair Growth

I have officially been on a no heat + (semi) protective styling stint since July. This is because when I straighten again in December I want to see progress. While retention is a big factor in the outcome, there are some things we can do to affect growth. We already discussed some of the things we can do to promote growth and in fact, increase your growth rate. Today, I am zooming in on the world of supplements to divulge those I take to positively affect hair growth.

Wash Day - Tea Time

This was a run of the mill wash day.
Actually, all my wash days go pretty much the same way these days. I may change a few products here and there, but they are quite standard and I haven't had a disastrous wash day in a long long time (thank you Jesus! lol).

First Impressions - Profectiv Mega Growth Deep Conditioner

I picked up this deep conditioner about 10 days ago, and to date I have used it about 3 times. Now this conditioner says anti-breakage & strengthening! Those who know me know that is not my thing at all. I'm a lover of all things moisture. However I saw this conditioner and was interested in it, and decided to give it a try.

My Current Oil Mix

I love oils!
If you have been reading this blog for even a short period you'd know I incorporate them a lot in my regimen. Today I am showing you the mix I created for sealing in moisture, scalp massages and adding to deep conditioners. This is also great as part of a skin care regimen.

Loving Lately... (3)

I'm back with another post about one thing I am currently loving, and this post is all about the LOC method.

I've talked about this method previously, and I was kind of on the fence about it in terms of the order which worked better for me, how to use it and what products are great for this method.

The other day I read a post on BGLH (that unfortunately I can't seem to find to link to this post) and decided to give it another shot.
