Quickie - How to Use a Hairpin

I recently learnt the 'proper' way to use a hairpin and thought I'd share it with you. (I use quotes because IMO there's no right way to skin the cat, as long as it gets skinned.) Anyway, this may prove helpful for some, so let's get into the how-tos.

how to use a hairpin

  • do not open the pin to allow it to pick up the hair, it is designed to catch the right amount by just sliding it into your hair and
  • turn the grooved edge face down to allow it to pick up and lock the hair in place.

That's it! As simple as 1, 2, 3... well, 1, 2.

Did you know or is this news? I didn't!

    i'm actually shocked, haha.
i always use the pin the other way around and ALWAYS bite it open to get the maximum amount of hair inside.
i'll be sure to try this out next time i'm pinning back my locks.

  9. I still can't get used to it!
There's another tip for hairpins I read recently, which is to spray some hairspray directly on the hairpin and then fix it in your hair, it will help it to stay fixed!
