Flexi Rod Takedown & Styling

You can tell by now that I have been obsessing over curly hair from my Clash of the curls and Hot roller set posts. So it should come as no surprise to you that today I'm zooming in on the flexi rod set.

I compiled a video of both my flexi rod takedown and some fun and playful styles that are great for when your curls become tired and dreary.

I didn't film how I install the rods because it was dark and I was tired while putting them in. But I captured pretty much everything else. Enough talking, here's the vi vi videooo!

When was the last time you did a flexi rod set?

Results of Last Wash Day

So last wash day I told you I had experimented with smaller sectioned flexi rods.
I left them in for about 7 hours and since I no longer have a hooded dryer (threw it out when I was leaving Japan), I had to make use of my hand-held dryer (which was quite tedious).

Still Flexing - Wash Day {5/2}

Last wash day I started off by:

  • detangling and pre-pooing with coconut oil. Of course I braided in my 4 sections as per usual.
  • Next I added my queen helene DC mix from this post sans glycerin
  • then I hopped in the shower to rinse. I skipped the shampoo this week and went straight for my Aussie moist instant conditioner.
  • after I rinsed, I t-shirt dried for 15 mins and then it was on to install some flexi rods.
