Bye Bye Senegalese Twists? Already?!

This is the last and final article about my Senegalese twists because... well... I kinda sorta took them out. I made it about 16 days and then I just woke up one day and uninstalled them. Here are the 5 reasons I got rid of them so soon:

  1. They are high maintenance! I thought I would have been getting a break from doing so much with my hair, boy was I wrong!
  2. They got too messy too quick. I was literally neatening up the front row approximately every 3-4 days. Uh-uhh!!
  3. Because I workout 5 days a week, I have to "rinse" my hair a lot, and washing and drying the braids were much more of a chore than my own hair.

  4. I don't like hair falling down my shoulders and back all the time (especially when laying down), but the hair was a bit heavy when pulled up (lose - lose situation).
  5. I prefer my own hair to the braids lol. Yeah, umm I really do. Bye boo!!

Since I did it myself, I only paid for the hair so I didn't really lose much by taking them out so quickly. So all's well.

What style is up next? Any suggestions?

  1. Tell me about it. I put in braids last month and wore them for 14 days. Having to wash them just made them unwearable.

  2. 3 weeks in with mines and i havent "washed" it yet. I clense my scalp by spritzing with diluted ACV gently wiping with baby wipes.

    1. oh I c. I sweat heavily when I work out, so not only do I need to cleanse the scalp but the length of the hair as well.
