DIY in the Blink of an EYE - Jewelry Hang.

Hey guys!

So you know how in my 15 things in 2015 post I said I wanted to do more DIYs?
Well, I started on that and I'm here to share it with you.

As you can tell by the title, this is super quick and easy and takes you from a cup rack to a jewelry hang in 2.5 seconds.

I bought a cup rack in the store that looks like this:

Then I measured the nail prongs against my door (you can choose a wall or other structure if you like), drove the nails and hung the rack onto the door.

Then I proceeded to hang and organize my jewelry. It ended up looking like the above (very first pic).

Not bad for a beginner huh? lol.

Have you done and DIYs lately? Share them with me below.

Ciao!

Love Potion - natural moisturizing & strengthening hair masque

I haven't had a protein treatment in about 9 weeks, since my post-relaxer wash, so I guess I am due for one now. But I am not protein's biggest fan, so rather than going for a strong or even a regular strength, full-on treatment, off to the kitchen I go to whip up a moisturizing hair masque with a strengthening twist. Come along!

Put a Sock in it! - DIY sock donut

In line with my current protective styling stint, I am featuring a gadget that may just take your PSing to the next level! It's no question that the bun is one of, if not THE most popular protective style. It is versatile, easy and can be done on hair in a variety of states. There are elegant low buns, fun top buns, messy buns, big buns, small ones...the list goes on and on.

But what if my hair alone just doesn't get me the results I desire when bunning?
Well, that's why we're here grasshopper! There is a gadget on the market that is designed to give you full beautiful buns every time. Enter the "Soft 'N Style Hair Donut ". You simply make a ponytail, then add the donut to your hair and have it sit on the ponytail holder. That is, the ponytail is pulled through the donut.

That's a great idea, but the Soft 'N Style Hair Donut doesn't look so soft to me, it may very well snag my hair. Are there any alternatives?
Ahh grasshopper, you ask all the right questions. Let me show you how to create a donut by using only a pair of socks and scissors.

Fly Away With Me - At Home Acrylic

I decided I wanted some french acrylics, I ordered the requirements in my last hair haul (I also had some stuff from last time around) and got to work. I do them myself because here in Japan the girls pretty much only sport gel nails (I'm not the biggest fan) and the salons rarely do acrylics, if they do, it's tens of thousands of Yen.

Quickie - DIY Steaming

There's no doubt that steaming is beneficial to our hair. Steam is the enemy of dry hair and our hair loves it some moisture by way of steam. The problem is, not everyone owns a steamer. Luckily for those of us who don't, there's a really simple alternative.

Apply your conditioner to hair. Dip a twisty-turby into some hot water and use your kitchen gloves to ring the excess water from it. Next, wrap your product-ridden hair with the twisty-turby and cover with a plastic cap. You can move to the hooded-dryer now. However, to amp it up a bit, add another steamy twisty-turby and another plastic cap. Sit under the dryer for at least 30 mins and BAMN! You steamed without a steamer.

Alternatively, you can make use of your shower, or pull a DC session at a steam room or sauna.

XOXO,
Abbi
