I haven't had a protein treatment in about 9 weeks, since my post-relaxer wash, so I guess I am due for one now. But I am not protein's biggest fan, so rather than going for a strong or even a regular strength, full-on treatment, off to the kitchen I go to whip up a moisturizing hair masque with a strengthening twist. Come along!

It felt awesome! (and no it didn't stain lol). I would certainly whip up another batch. I loved it because I got the protein treatment in without the stiff, crunchy mess. My hair felt strong but still soft and moisturized. Thumbs up.
Whip up anything lately?
Oooo sounds like it smells nice! Do you use measured amounts of each ingredient or do you eyeball it? And what is pink salt? This mix sounds really cool, I may just give it a try!
ReplyDeleteSorry Rachel, I should've said in the post. I used 1/2 banana, 2/3 avocado, 1 tsp spirulina powder, 1 tsp honey, and I eye-balled the other ingredients to get a masque-like consistency.
DeleteThis pink salt is Himalayan salt which is rich in minerals. I used it for that reason plus salt increases water retention -> moisture.
Yes! It smelled delish! I even applied some to my face for a mini facial haha You should def try it out, adding your own spin on it if necessary.
This is a creative "protein" treatment. I may try it out as well
