January faves - Hair, Health & Beauty

Better late than never, is what they say. So I have decided to do a "monthly faves" for January, posting it on February 8th. Here are my picks:

January Faves

Products
VO5 Shea Cashmere moisturizing conditioner - super moisturizing and the chocolate-esque smell is delicious. See thorough review here

EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) - I think readers of this blog already know how much I love EVOO because it shows up in every wash day post. But since January has begun, it has been showing up elsewhere as well.

Apple Cider Vinegar - I picked up a bottle of ACV earlier this month. I've been using it for various things like alkalizing the body and toning my face and I think it produces good results. Check out some of its uses

EOS lip balm- very moisturizing on my lips and fun to use. I like that I can apply as often as I like without my lips feeling too coated or them sporting white lines.

Nikes - A gift from my boo that gets so much use. Nothing like new workout gear to get that ass in shape.

Clear by Orbis  - I actually got this travel kit for my winter trip but barely used it then. I tried the face wash in January and loved it. It leaves my skin clear (go figure!) and soft with each wash.

Techniques
  • Exfoliating twice each week - this keeps my skin looking shiny and new.
  • Washing hair in braids - can you say 'easy, breezy, beautiful' wash days?!
  • Protective styles that last the entire week (HOTW) - My method for saving time and saving my hair (from breakage).

What products/ techniques have you been digging this month?

  1. Oh think I might try the ACV as a toner... is it any good for oily skin?

    1. I should think so Monalisa. I have combination skin - dry but oily in a few areas. The ACV tones and balances the skin and should work to bring both dry and oily skin to an optimal state.

  2. I have not been consistent with my exfoliating routine. I plan to take that up more because my face is suffering. As for washing hair in braids, easy breezy, beautiful wash days!!
