Preparing for the Big Day - (Pre-relaxer) Washday - 3/20

As I previously mentioned, I will be relaxing sometime next week and so on Thursday, the last day of work, I went ahead and washed my hair and also prepped it for the relaxer process. Here's how:

Love Potion - natural moisturizing & strengthening hair masque

I haven't had a protein treatment in about 9 weeks, since my post-relaxer wash, so I guess I am due for one now. But I am not protein's biggest fan, so rather than going for a strong or even a regular strength, full-on treatment, off to the kitchen I go to whip up a moisturizing hair masque with a strengthening twist. Come along!

Finding a Middle Ground - Moisture:Protein Balance

Upon starting our hair journeys we hear that chemically treated heads are the most in need of protein, so we stock up on our protein-containing products to give our hair that much needed boost, only to end up in a situation where it turns out you didn't actually need that much and now your hair is hard and dry. womp!

Now that I have overcome my protein overload, I suppose it is time to speak on the moisture/protein balance. This is the area of any hair 'journey' which is perhaps the most fundamental and yet probably the most difficult to grasp. It certainly was for me.

I Like it Strong, but not THAT Strong...

...Aphogee 2 Step Protein Treatment VS. 2 minute Reconstructor

I got a comment/question from a reader which inspired this post (Hey girl if you're reading :-))
Yes I have picked up the Aphogee two step. But I seen the Aphogee two minute treatment. Do you know the difference in the two?

After looking back at my hair habits and taking note of the products I used, it's no wonder I was having an issue with dry hair recently. I had been using so many protein-containing products and of course, these 2 are right there in the mix. Anyway, this is what I have to say about these two products.
