I attended a party yesterday, and I wanted to do something different from my go-to braid-out, so I decided to give bantu knots a shot.

How To: My Perfect Braid-out

Saturday is my day for running errands and my go-to casual styles for these days are either a high bun or a braid-out. Well today it was braid-out day as I'm now 10.5 weeks post. I tend to go for a bun earlier on in the stretch when the edges show a little more cooperation.

So this HOTW post is not really a HOTW style at all...well kinda. You see, I washed my hair on Friday and I removed my single braids on Saturday night for an event and wore a braid-out. Before bedtime at around 5am Sunday morning, I barely managed to LOC and put my hair up in two braids at either side of my head. I couldn't be bothered to style my hair on Sunday evening so I have been rocking this style since then. And you know what, it's serving it's purpose so I aint tripping lol.

Stretching relaxers is great, but being 19 weeks post can make it really difficult to style your hair. You may be tempted to break out the flat iron more often because the new growth can be something special!  But you don't have to! Below is a pic of my hair today, which is a kind of go-to style for me.

My Substitute... for Flexi Rods

I love curly hair! You may remember in this post I listed flexirods as one of the things I've been dying to get my hands on but couldn't find anywhere where I live. I went to the 100yen shop and found some foam gadgets that I thought may well work as a substitute.

What is it?

These are those styles which can be done without handling the hair too much or too often. Any style which allows you to create it without using a comb or brush may pretty much be thought of as a low manipulation style. Many protective styles can be turned into low-manipulation styles.
