One just does not leave their country of abode for travel and not pick up a few hair products, especially when you're on a hair journey. So this post is dedicated to the items I copped recently.
I tried to finish up many of my products before leaving Japan, then got rid of most of the rest. So this is pretty much a fresh start. What's great is that Jamaica is certainly not lacking in the well-known products that us HHJ ladies utilize, so I can run to the store at any time to pick up whatever I need. Unlike in Japan where all my shopping was done online. They are more expensive than in America, but it's not too bad. Some of the stuff I got were bought in Florida and the others in Jamaica.

- Queen Helene cholesterol cream
- peppermint essential oil
- Lottabody setting lotion
Newbies
- Organics Hair mayonnaise
- 100% Jamaican castor oil
- Pantene truly Relaxed hair; Intense Moisturizing Shampoo
- Aussie moist conditioner
- HEHH (with coconut essences)
These are my basics for now. Of course I will add and subtract as time goes on, and report on what works and what doesn't.
Have you tried any of the products above? How did you fair?
I'm a big fan of the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration, its a great cowash conditioner for a quick moisture boost. Years ago I tried Pantene's Relaxed line, it smells amazing but was quite drying on my hair. Can't wait to hear how the new products work out for you!
ReplyDeleteJas-Sherese you hit both nails on the head!
DeleteAll this time I have been following this blog I had no idea you were Jamaican...I did a massive shopping for hair products last year prior to leaving Jamaica to go to the UK for grad school so I can understand where you are coming from, but its pretty easy to find products in the UK though so I am not complaining
ReplyDeleteYes ma'am, yaadie to the bone! The availability in Ja isn't too bad either, cant complain.
DeleteORS hair mayonnaise is my go-too when it comes to protein treatments.
ReplyDeletei purchased the aPHogee line and couldn't deal with the smell or the results.
it was just more protein that i needed and my hair literally started snapping off.
*shudders.
i've been on the hunt for peppermint oil to appease my scalp but it's very hard to find.
i've started using almond oil on both my face and hair - i'll keep you posted on how that works out.
i'm curious though - how do you use castor oil?
is it on a daily basis?
:)

yeah I like the ORS hair mayo too, but only about once per month as my hair doesn't like too much protein.
DeleteI don't really use the castor oil by itself on the daily. I use it in my deep conditioners and I add some to my oil mix which I use daily for things like sealing, styling and refreshing my hair.
