The weather has been lovely lately! Spring is that you??
I attended a party yesterday, and I wanted to do something different from my go-to braid-out, so I decided to give bantu knots a shot.
bantu-knots |
I had tried them before and had not been too successful - my hair was too damp when I took them out and they fell flat. This time I had a little better luck. Take a look at how it progressed...
12 bantu-knots |
After washing and air-drying, I moisturized and sealed with HEHH and an oil mix, and then made 12 bantu knots all over my head. They remained overnight.
unscrewed knots |
I coated my fingers with oil, unscrewed the knots as if opening a bottle cap, and then ran my oiled fingers all the way to the ends.
separated knots |
I loved having a little bit shorter hair that didn't get caught in the strap of my bag, on my lip gloss or in my eyes. Also, It was easy to just throw it up into a pony and still have a cute do.
I did bantu knots to attend my uncle funeral, it was a total disaster lol
ReplyDeletelol I've had my share of failed bantu knot-outs too. Just keep trying lol
DeleteWao Looks sooo good. I wish i was at a length where it is possible to get good results like that. :)

Thanks Ev. What's funny is I remember doing this style a few months into my hair journey at roughly shoulder length and at MBL it looks the same lol
DeleteI never get results like that! I still don't know what I'm doing wrong :-(
ReplyDeleteOh no. The time my bantu knot failed was when I started on wet hair and it didn't dry sufficiently by take-down, so now I start on damp or dry (moisturized) hair. Could that be it?
DeleteI haven't tried them in a while because I felt my hair was in an akward growth stage. I may have to revisit them soon!
ReplyDeleteCourtnea of Finally Growing!
OK. yeah, I'd love to see it.
