Upside Down You're Turning Me - Inversion method

Now call me crazy, but I tried this bad boy a few weeks ago! I had previously seen this method circulating on the net but for whatever reason, I didn't pay it much attention. About a month ago, I read a post in which Yahya of Pocahontas Haircare Secrets spoke about this method and her successes using it. At this point, I thought well it's only 28 minutes of my week, if it works great, if not oh well.
After some research, I proceeded with my version of the inversion method. Unfortunately, I'm wearing cornrows for my long-term protective style, so accurate measurement was virtually impossible, so I decided to just eyeball it.

I applied warmed coconut oil to my scalp and leaned over my kitchen sink for four minutes everyday for a week. At the end, when I pulled the braid away from my scalp, there was a notable difference. I love the instant gratification of this method!

It is said that it is best to do this once per month for (7 days) for it to be effective. So I will continue with it until the end of my stretch. At that point I will compare my results to what I would typically get to see the difference. One thing though, as per my 'operation moisture' which I spoke of in this post, I will be using the Green House Effect (GHE) method as well. As such, I won't be able to say which method is responsible for any increase in growth :-( But at least we'll know whether they affect my hair's growth rate or not.

I'll keep you posted.

XOXO,
Abbi

  2. I was thinking just like you. I saw mention of it and thought "yeah whatever." Then after reading Yahya's post I thought "What the heck? Why not give it a shot.?" I've been doing both inversion and GHE. I don't know that I've seen much growth. I figured my new growth would be telling this story. I'm about 8 weeks post now. It doesn't seem that I have anymore than usual. I did not use warm oil on my scalp so maybe I will do this next time. Can't wait to read your future update.

    1. lol Great minds! I'm doing the GHE to overcome dryness but let's see if there are any truths to it being called a growth aid. It'll be interesting to see how it turns out for both you and I.
