Many, if not most, articles are focused on length retention rather than hair growth and rightly so, since hair grows as long as you are healthy. Hair typically grows at a rate of 1/2 inch per month, but that's just an average. So if your rate is much lower and you want to speed it up, listen up!

Wash Day feat. OGX (Organix) Kukui Oil Shampoo & Conditioner
This wash day started out with me detangling and prepooing my hair with coconut oil. The detangling step was very necessary this time around, as I had been wearing rope twists and the hair clumped together a lot due to the style. After detangling, I put my hair into my old friend - the four braids that I loved so much. Next I applied the Kukui oil shampoo to my dry hair.

Turn Workout Hair into Weekend Hair Quick
As I told you before in a previous post, I rocked rope twists as my style for the week. Which were great for working out and keeping up with my healthy hair practices. However, by Saturday I had completed my 5/ 6 days of working out and wanted a different look.
I had planned on taking the twists down for a thorough wash but had not gotten to that yet, so I went ahead and undid them and did a high bun instead. Here's how I did it in just a few easy steps:

The Perfect Hairstyle for Working Out & Maintaining a HHJ
The other day after I got in from the gym, I let my hair out to dry. After it was no longer damp, it was a dehydrated mess. As you may have seen in my last post, sweat leaves our hair dry and creates a milieu for possible breakage. We can't have that now, can we?!

Fitness Friday - The Effect of Sweat on your Healthy Hair Journey
As you may know by now, I'm pretty big on fitness and I workout 5-6 days a week (sometimes more than that). And these sessions are pretty intense. Now, that's a lot of sweat. I found myself washing (rinsing, co-washing, shampooing etc) my hair every other day and sometimes every day, for fear of my hair producing an unpleasant odor. But do I have an even bigger problem on my hands than dread smelling locks? Perhaps...
